It is with great pleasure and excitement that we introduce to you our new President, Dr. Jessica Heestand, MD! With her exceptional credentials, dedication, and leadership, Dr. Heestand has been an integral part of our team since 2015, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see her take on this new role.
Dr. Heestand brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her position. She is a Board Certified physician in Internal Medicine, having completed her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University and her Medical School training at The University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Her commitment to excellence was evident during her Internal Medicine internship and residency at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was honored with the prestigious James A. Bryan II Award for Excellence in Ambulatory General Internal Medicine in 2014.
Since joining Wake Internal Medicine, Dr. Heestand has not only provided exceptional care to her patients but has also played an active role within our organization. Her leadership qualities have been recognized through her involvement in various committees, and we are proud to see her ascend to the position of President on April 15, 2024, marking a significant milestone as the first female President in our organization’s 85+ year history.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Heestand is a devoted wife and mother of two, finding joy in family adventures such as camping, sporting events, and travel. Her passion for both medicine and life outside the clinic resonates with our team and patients alike.
As we embark on this new chapter with Dr. Heestand at the helm, we are confident that her vision, dedication, and compassion will continue to uphold Wake Internal Medicine Consultants as the region’s premier multi-specialty clinic.
