CAN I MEET WITH THE DOCTOR AND TOUR THE OFFICE PRIOR TO GIVING BIRTH?
Absolutely. We encourage you to schedule a tour of our facilities at Wake Pediatrics in Raleigh, NC and meet with one of our physicians who can answer all the questions you may have. Please call our office at (919) 781-7500 to set up an appointment. Our tours are held after office hours to ensure you have the attention given to all your questions and concerns.
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY REGARDING SICK VISITS AND AFTER-HOUR EMERGENCIES?
We ensure that we will see your sick child on the same day. Please call our office and our on-call physician will be available to see you. If you have an after-hours emergency, phone our office number at (919) 781-7500 and our after-hours staff will help you with your questions. If you have a truly life-threatening emergency, please dial 911 or get your child to the emergency room.
IF MY CHILD IS SICK DURING OFFICE HOURS CAN YOU SEE HIM/HER THE SAME DAY?
Yes. Call 919-781-7500, press option 2 for appointments. We will always see a sick child the same day.
IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT AT WAKE PEDIATRICS IN RALEIGH, NC?
No. If possible call to alert the staff that you are on the way to the office. If the emergency is life-threatening call 911 immediately.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO SCHEDULE A WELL CHILD VISIT?

At Wake Pediatrics in Raleigh, NC, we recommend check-ups or physicals:

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO SCHEDULE A PHYSICAL FOR SCHOOL OR SPORTS?
They can often be scheduled within two weeks.
WILL MY CHILD ALWAYS SEE THE SAME DOCTOR?
Yes for routine checkups. For sick visits, you will also see the same doctor, unless that physician is out of the office, then another physician will see your child.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR A DOCTOR OR NURSE TO RETURN MY CALL?
If urgent, you will speak directly to your physician’s nursing personnel or our phone triage nurse. If not urgent, your call will be returned by end of day.
WILL THE DOCTOR COME TO THE HOSPITAL TO SEE MY NEWBORN BEFORE BEING DISCHARGED?
While our physicians do not see your newborn in the hospital before you are discharged, they are in very close contact with area hospital’s newborn specialists. These specialists are expertly trained to answer any and all questions you have concerning your newborn, and they are there to ensure a smooth transition from the hospital to your home. They also help make sure that you phone our office while in the hospital to set up your newborn office visit to Wake Pediatrics in Raleigh, NC.
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY FOR PHYSICALS AND VACCINE PROTOCOL?
Generally, physicals are set up two months in advance. We follow the vaccine protocol required by the state of North Carolina. Below is a timetable that might be helpful to you in your scheduling of regular physicals and vaccines:
